Evaluation

The applications will be evaluated by seven professors from different universities with different areas of knowledge. They will thereafter meet under the chairmanship of Professor Carl-Henrik Heldin. The Chairman has not been part of the initial phase of the evaluation process. Together, the group will present about ten prospective candidates to the Board of the Foundation, based exclusively on scientific considerations.

An interview will be held on Monday and Tuesday the 8th and 9th of October with each prioritised candidate for about 30 minutes. Here, there will be an opportunity for the candidate to present their research and be questioned by the Board and by the President of the expert group. More information will be sent with the letter of notification in mid-September.

Decision

After the interviews, the Board will make a decision as to who will receive the grant and this decision will be announced immediately. The Ragnar Söderberg Research Fellowship in Medicine will be presented during a ceremony on the 26th of October. The Foundation will publish a list of all approved grants on its website in December.

The applicant who has been awarded the grant will receive a notification letter containing the terms and instructions on how the funding may be used and how it shall be ordered. The grant will be paid periodically to the grant manager.

Information about rejected applications will not be published but can be seen on ‘My page’ under the tab ‘Submitted Applications’ in December.
